Q & A archiveThyroid

Question: I feel I have an under active thyroid from most of the symptoms I am suffering with at present but the biggest one is tiredness and I feel that at 25 this should not be the case. Is there any food I can eat that can increase my thyroid to see if this is the case?

Answer: There are lots of symptoms that one can have due to thyroid deficiency. One is certainly fatigue but there are many others. To answer your question intelligently I would have to know a lot more about your eating habits, weight, lifestyle etc. If you are going to overcome fatigue the first thing you must do is refrain from eating sugar foods and white flour foods. Lots of foods containing antioxidants are indicated. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, fish, some meat and nuts. Supplements of Vitamins C, E complex, B, and iodine as found in Kelp may be helpful also.

You obviously are acquainted with my website, so open it and look under Q&A Archives and click on thyroid and read it. Also, if you have not yet read my book “Letters to my Patients,” you should. There is a lot of good information in it regarding your problem as well as a guide to good total health. If all else fails, I would be glad to counsel with you for an hour or so and show you how to help overcome your problems. Good luck.
