Q & A archiveRosacea

Question: I think that my stomach always feels too acidic due to Rosacea. Do you think that is correct?

Answer: I would suggest that you go to the Q & A archive and read the information on acidity. I do not believe that stomach acidity, as you put it, has any direct causative relationship to Rosacea because there are many people with hyperacidity problems that don’t have Rosacea. There does however, seem to be a relationship between the acid ash grain foods and Rosacea because I find that eliminating the grain foods has a positive healing effect on this problem. More probably, it is the sensitivity to gluten in the grains which could be a problem.

There are many other things that I have found to be beneficial in treating Rosacea.

1. Eliminate sugar foods, including soft drinks because the end products of sugar metabolism are very irritating to the pores of the skin.
2. Vitamin C 1000 mg. twice a day.
3. Vitamin E complex 400 to 800 units daily.
4. Zinc, up to 50 mg. a day.
5. Vitamin A, 10,000 units daily. I sometimes start with 25,000 units daily for one month and then reduce the dose to 10,000.
6. Omega 3 fatty acids as found in Fish Oils and /or Flaxseed Oil.

I am definitely NOT an advocate of using antibiotics—either oral or topical—or cortisone creams for this problem. The side effects can be worse than the disease in some cases.
