Question: What is the most important thing for a diabetic to do to control the disease?

Answer: A very short answer to your question would be to eliminate ALL refined sugar foods from your diet. Eliminate all artificial sweeteners from the diet also with the exception of Stevia. Stevia is a vegetable sweetener which is harmless to diabetics and it is very sweet. Also eliminate foods that are converted rapidly to sugar like refined flour foods. Drastically reduce all grain foods. Eliminate milk from the diet.

There are several vitamins and herbs that are very helpful in treating and overcoming Type 2 diabetes. Vitamin B6 is very important and is better utilized when taken with magnesium because they are both very necessary to treatment. Vitamin D is very essential. The herbs American Ginseng and Gymnema Sylvestre are helpful in controlling the blood sugar. The fat metabolites Lecithin and Inositol are very helpful in clearing the fatty deposits from the pancreas.

The successful treatment of Type 2 diabetes is very detailed and requires a lot of will power which is something that most people with diabetes do not have. Careful adherence to a good diabetic regimen can many times make the diabetic medications unnecessary after several months and overcome the disease.
