Illness Prevention
It is getting around the time of the year when people start
coming down with colds and upper respiratory infections and flu
etc. So it is time I told you how to stop these infections
BEFORE they get a good start. They are much more easily
prevented before they get a good foothold than they are to cure
AFTER they have been going for several days. Here's how:
1. Stop ALL refined sugar intake. That includes soft drinks
(diet or regular) and all of the sweet "goodies" that are
beginning to be around everywhere you go until after the
holidays. It is amazing what a devastating effect even moderate
amounts of refined sugar have on the immune system.
2. Take 15 drops of G.S.E. (grapefruit seed extract) in about a
half glass of water or juice and drink it three or even four
times a day. If you are also getting a sore throat, gargle each
mouthful before swallowing it.
3. Get some Vitamin C in crystals (looks like granulated sugar
but it isn't). Each teaspoon of this form of Vitamin C contains
between 4000 and 5000 mg. of Vitamin C. Put a full teaspoon in a
small glass of water, stir it thoroughly and drink the whole
thing--bottoms up! If there is some not dissolved in the bottom
of the glass put a little more water in the glass and down it
also. Repeat this dose every two or three hours until the
symptoms of the illness are gone or until diarrhea begins.
Usually after about three or four doses the illness symptoms are
gone or markedly improved. If symptoms are not gone wait a few
hours and repeat another dose or two.
4.Take Echinacea three or four times a day at the maximum dose
suggested on the bottle.
5. Suck on a zinc lozenge every two hours for a total of five
per day for one or two days.
All of the above products are available at any Health Food
Store. If you do this faithfully, the symptoms of illness are
usually gone within 24 to 48 hours. That sure beats suffering
two or three weeks trying to suppress symptoms with expensive
drugs, not to mention their side effects! Try it--you'll like
it.
